As the Hawai‘i Nurses’ Association (HNA) continues to expand its capacity to effect meaningful and lasting change, political action remains a critical part of our strategy. Advocacy doesn’t stop at the bedside — it must also reach the halls of government.

Did you know that nursing has been recognized as the most trusted profession for the 23rd consecutive year, according to Gallup’s annual Most Honest and Ethical Professions Poll? Now is the time to use that trust to strengthen our voice and shape policies that support safe staffing, fair working conditions, and high-quality patient care.

Who We Endorse:

The HNA Political Action Committee endorses County, State, and Federal candidates who demonstrate strong support for pro-nursing policies — especially legislation that advances safe nurse-patient ratios and protects the rights and well-being of nurses across Hawai‘i.

Joining the HNA PAC gives you a direct role in advancing this mission. These monthly sessions are where we refine our political endorsement process, engage with legislators, and strengthen our collective impact.
